Meta

With great difficulty, I strap myself to my bed every night. I have never needed an alarm clock; I am awoken by my own screams, as if haunted by the ghosts that live on my computer, each dream a reminder of the weirdness I’ve embraced deep in my soul throughout all those years online.

Introduction

This site belongs to someone known under way too many names on the Internet, but you can just call me Nyyppa or Wagyu for now, and it should be fine.

Quick, nobody tell zoomers the computer is an exocortex, not just a machine for simulating hyperabusive social pathologies.

You are now at the /meta page of my Personal Exocortex; I was first introduced to the idea of an Exocortex through an old internet ghost named Miya. Since then, various attempts at implementing a powerful exocortex have been made. A proof of concept was distributed by Remilia Corporation, though it is pretty much abandonware now, so I started working on my own implementation.

Regarding the content, most pages here are “eternal pages”. Eternal pages are posts that are never truly complete. I might come and make additions/changes/add margin notes to them in the future as I find necessary, so you shouldn’t treat it as blogging, but more as an open infini-notebook for my brain. The themes you’ll find here are almost exclusively things of my personal interest.

About Me

Conceptual movements from the 70s that I hope to see revived: deschooling, networked learning, pattern languages, do-it-yourself (DIY), hypertext, classical liberalism, permacomputing, freedom in personal computing and deep econometrics. This is the legacy I seek to rescue on this site. I believe that all these topics, and others not mentioned, derive from the same universal structure of autonomy.

Non-exhaustive and unordered list of main influences: Ted Nelson, Christopher Alexander, Ivan Illich, Friedrich Nietzsche, Éric Rohmer, Arne Næss, Nick Land, Ray Peat, Gwern, Miya, Satoshi Nakamoto, Yohji Yamamoto, Cahiers du Cinéma, Yukio Mishima, Bronze Age Pervert.
